Town Council History

Tenterden Town Council as an organisation dates back  hundreds of years, and we have records as far back as 1449, when the town was granted borough status by King Henry VI. We have biographical information about all Mayors (or Bayliffs, before the incorporation of the town) going right back to 1449, and we are always happy to help with genealogy enquiries.

On this page you can see photographs of our Mayors from 1885 right up to the modern day.
