Cinema and Skatepark Projects take a Step Foward

12th Sep 2019

Two of the major town projects took a significant step forward at the Monday, 9th September meeting of Tenterden Town Council.

A full building feasibility study, estimated to cost £26,000, is being commissioned into The Pebbles in the High Street, which has been identified as the site for a new two-screen digital cinema and café.

A call for tenders for the feasibility study will be carried out shortly.

Meanwhile, a budget of £5,400 was agreed for specialist designers Canvas to produce detailed concept, design development recommendations and pre-construction specifications for the Recreation Ground skatepark.

The work will include suggestions made by a team of young Tenterden skatepark enthusiasts, and will be the final preliminary work before the project – scheduled to cost up to £250,000, and the first element of the Recreation Ground re-design  – is put out to tender.
