Virtual Reality Exhibitions to be Staged On Town’s Major Projects
17th Oct 2019
An exhibition with state-of-the-art virtual reality presentations on Tenterden’s three major projects – the redesign of the Recreation Ground, a possible new cinema and restoration of the Town Hall - will be held at the Town Hall on 21st and 22nd February and at St Michael’s Village Hall shortly afterwards.
The exhibition will give residents the opportunity for a 3D ‘walk through’ of the projects, and will be hosted by town councillors, designers and architects.
Councillors were updated on current progress of the three projects…..
Recreation Ground Main design agreed and skatepark design to be finalised. Costed and phased plan will be prepared for a planning application to Ashford Borough Council.
Cinema Plans have been drawn up for the interior, to include the box office, restaurant and staff hospitality facilities, and a tender invitation has been issued for a business feasibility study. The auditoria will be situated in the garden.
Town Hall Designs now available. Work will be undertaken in phases.
Meanwhile, at last night’s (Monday, 14 October) Town Council and committee meetings, Dolmen Conservation were awarded the £51,000 contract to restore the decaying Town Hall roof.
And funding specialists Craigmyle Consulting are to be commissioned to identify additional sources of grant finance for the Recreation Ground from organisations with a specific interest in youth and sports projects.
