Boost for Cycling in Tenterden

14th Sep 2018

Cycling in Tenterden is to be given a boost following a presentation to Tenterden Town Councillors by Sustrans, the national sustainable transport authority.  Residents and cycling groups will be invited to join the consultation at a later date.

One of the ideas under consideration is the extension of the old railway line cycle track, between Grange Road and Haffenden Road, although a report by Sustrans identifies a network of potential cycle-ways throughout the town.

The Mayor of Tenterden, Cllr Pam Smith, says: "We believe we should support initiatives like this which encourage healthy activity and environmental responsibility. And it's hard to imagine a more beautiful setting for cyclists than Tenterden and its surrounding countryside"
