A new company has been created in readiness to take on the cinema project after the completion of the feasibility study being undertaken by specialist designers Burrell Foley Fischer.
The company’s aim will be to raise funds and manage the project to convert the 17th century Pebbles building in the High Street to provide a state-of-the-art two-screen digital cinema and café.
Tom Evans (chairman of the cinema focus group and a founding director of the company) says “Our first step will be to develop a business plan in discussion with Tenterden Town Council, cinema consultants Craigmount, and potential operators of the cinema. We want to be in a position to enter into agreements with the Council and an operator that will allow us to move the project forward following a successful feasibility study, due for completion at the end of March.”
