WHAT IS IT?
The Tenterden Community Emergency Plan is designed to help if an emergency arises where local resources and volunteers can be of use. This won’t replace the emergency services or other key responders, but local resources can be useful to these responders, and if circumstances delay the arrival of the emergency services it will help to have a plan in place to take steps to deal with the emergency until they arrive.
For a copy of the full plan, please click here.
For a copy of the Kent Resilience Forum's "What to do in an emergency" useful document, this can be downloaded here.
We would like to sign up people from each street to act as a liaison for the residents there. Whether or not you have particular skills or equipment relevant for emergencies, if you can act as a community liaison volunteer that would be very useful. This is very similar to the role of Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinator, so it would be an especially good fit for people already in that role. You can download a volunteer form here.
We would also like to know if you have any relevant skills (e.g. medical, 4x4 vehicles, tractors, chain saws, radio equipment, etc.), so if this applies to you (or an organisation to which you belong), please include it on the volunteer form, and a member of the steering group can contact you to build them into the plan.
