Boost for Tenterden Economy as Free Parking Scheme is Extended to 31st December 2020

The free parking scheme in Tenterden, put in place as part of the Town Council’s strategy of helping the local economy recover from the Covid-19 pandemic, is to be extended until Thursday, 31st December.

Originally scheduled to run until the end of August, the scheme involves 140 parking bays at the Leisure Centre for all-day free parking, and 15 additional bays in the Station Road coach park for three hours free parking, as well as the remaining bays in the High Street.

“This is great news”, said Town Clerk Phil Burgess. “It’s an example of how the Town Council has been working closely with Ashford Borough Council, which is the parking authority, on a strategy to boost our retail and hospitality.  We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Ashford Borough Council’s Parking Team for their continued assistance and support in helping Tenterden.”
