Post-pandemic Tenterden - your ideas are needed!

With the first steps being taken to ease lockdown and a clear roadmap out of the Covid crisis, Tenterden Town Council’s Covid sub-committee is to meet early next week to discuss ways of supporting the town and its traders.

“We have some ideas for helping the town return to normality”, says Town Clerk Phil Burgess, “but we are extremely keen to hear from anyone, particularly retailers, with suggestions of how we can help.

“Our powers as a town council are clearly defined, but we know that by working together with businesses, Ashford Borough Council and Kent County Council, we can make a real difference.

“The council is planning to ask Ashford Borough Council to extend its free parking scheme to June, and we’ll be investigating ideas such as picnic tables on the Recreation Ground and along the High Street.”
