Tenterden is to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee next year with the lighting of the town beacon.
The Town Council on Monday, 12 July agreed that the ceremony will take place at the beacon on the Recreation Ground on Thursday, 2 June, 2022 as part of a nationwide celebration of the Queen’s 70th anniversary of accession to the throne, the longest of any monarch in Britain’s history.
