Town Centre & Tourism Co-ordinator

The Town Council is seeking a part-time Town Centre & Tourism Co-ordinator to join our small team at the Town Hall. The role will involve regular liaison with businesses, the Council’s Tourism & Business Sub-committee and Ashford Borough Council. The principal emphasis will be on business recovery on the High Street and will shift and develop into a role encompassing Tourism in the town once the effects of the Coronavirus outbreak diminish.

The role is new to the Council and therefore will be offered initially as a 1-year employed contract with a review after 6 months. Salary will be £12,000 - £14,000 per annum for a 20-hour week. Hours are by arrangement but will be mainly driven by the role itself.  Some evening and weekend work will be necessary.  Pay scales and local government pension benefits will be available following a successful trial period.

Work will be mainly from home during the pandemic.

Any relevant previous experience will be considered. However, applicants must display adaptability and a personable character, as well as a thorough knowledge of the town.
